Our Story

Passion project of Karin Adcock & Lars Ulrich nielson, Winmark is a wonderland of wine, sculptures, and natural beauty nestled between mountain ranges in Broke NSW

Passion project of Karin and Lars, Winmark is a wonderland of wine, sculptures, and natural beauty nestled between mountain ranges in Broke NSW. More than a premium Hunter Valley Chardonnay producer, Winmark is a destination meticulously carefully designed for connection, creativity and nourishing the soul.

That dedication and meticulous attention carry from the flawless lawns through to the vineyards themselves - There’s a good reason why Winmark is a Halliday 5 star rated Winery.

Crafted by Nature, Shaped by Vision

The vineyard was originally established in 1988 by the late founder of Macquarie Bank, David Clarke. David named the vineyard after the iconic large rock on the property, Pooles Rock. The story goes, that an English convict Richard Poole, in the early 1800’ used to sleep in the hollow of the Rock and the rock was then named after him.

When Karin bought Winmark 2016, it was intended to be a place for family and friends to retreat, connect and unwind. After realising the depth of the natural beauty, abundance of wildlife and the unique terroir’s ability to produce premium chardonnay, Karin decided that it was a place that should be shared with others. She invisaged a place where couples, families, friends and individuals could come to relax in the tranquil surrounds and recharge. In 2018 Karin and a small team embarked on transforming the property, piece at a time, restoring, landscaping and adding to the facilities.

Fast forward to now and Karin and Lars travel the world bringing back Sculptures and Artworks to share with the Hunter Valley. Together they curate an inspirational, world class art experience indoors and out, at the stunning Winmark property.

Where Art Meets Earth

Since 2018, the 130 acre property has been fully renovated with an artful eye, transforming it into one of the area’s premier destinations consistently holding top rankings across the Hunter Valley. The property displays sculptures and artworks from around the world, blending created art with the natural beauty of breathtaking mountain and vineyard views.

Winmark now boasts award winning wines, a cellar door, Rosie’s Alfresco, Coffee van, Sculpture Garden, Art Gallery and Boutique. Karin’s ethos is that Winmark (meaning field of vines in Danish) will inspire all its guests to glean inspiration to create their own small pocket of beauty back at home. She believes that your surroundings have an overwhelming impact on your mood, your happiness and quality of life. She hopes that every guest will feel inspired from their Winmark experience, whether stopping by for a tasting, attending an art class or staying on the property.
