Winmark Wines, formerly Pooles Rock, in picturesque Broke, located in the Hunter Valley, has recently been completely renovated and refurbished. The estate comprises 130 acres with 28 acres under premium chardonnay vines.
Our guests enjoy this unique winery accommodation, that features the monumental sculpture, ‘Biosis’, by renowned sculptor David Ball, a stunning perennial and rose garden by leading landscape designer Paul Bangay (OAM), a sandstone fire pit by the dam, two private tennis courts and pools, and is home to the legendary rock ‘Pooles Rock’, named after the convict Richard Poole, who slept in the rock’s hollow.
The Residence is at the heart of this impressive estate. Designed for the ultimate getaway experience, this is a guesthouse of distinction.
Owner Karin Adcock’s love of interiors and travel is represented in every corner - Asian antiquities sit beside Aboriginal artwork along with indigenous African artefacts. This is a home where every detail and finish has been personally selected to welcome guests to relax in comfort.
An elegant open plan living area incorporates two generous lounge areas, intricate two-way sandstone fireplace, dining room and executive kitchen.
The generous covered alfresco area is enclosed by wisteria, and overlooks the private tennis court and private pool, as well as the stunning perennial and rose garden by designer Paul Bangay.
The tastefully themed ‘Africa Room’, with its tribal drums and vineyard memorabilia, is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors to showcase the panoramic views of the vineyard and distant mountains, and can be opened up in summer or enjoyed in the depths of winter by the fireplace.
Mio Monte is a large, sophisticated home that showcases modern Australian architecture with a Tuscan twist. Mio Monte is Italian for ‘My Mountain’ and looks across the vine-filled valley to Mt Broke.
The open-plan dining and living areas are framed by full-length windows and sliding doors that open onto a long alfresco verandah with views across the vineyard to the mountains.
A stone fireplace, library and sitting room, outdoor BBQ/Pizza oven areas and a pool offers plenty of opportunity for a relaxing getaway. Mio Monte's two wings house three bedrooms each with newly renovated bathrooms. The seventh bedroom is loft style upstairs, with access to the main bathroom facilities.
Mio Monte has been a favourite Hunter Valley accommodation destination for many guests over the years, and provides ample space for guests to unwind and enjoy themselves.

Rock View's adjoining living areas with an open fireplace and kitchen are perfect for a winter night in, whilst the outdoor alfresco area with its 10-seater dining table is very popular in the warmer months. Guests can cook their own homemade pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven while enjoying the warmth of the firepit.
