In this piece the late Toulouse-Lautrec meets an animé girl in sensible shoes, sending out paper planes into the world. These two are from different eras and yet they meet in the same frame, where the feeling of belonging together, just the two of them, can be overwhelming.

About the Artist: Danish artist Julie Bidstrup creates paintings, lithographs and collages inspired by street art and impressionism. Her artwork is layered by stories, symbolism and contrasts. Changing patterns, chaos, quirky characters and destinies are recurring themes in her works.
