The sun and moon rule and inspire us; setting our days and our months, and insinuating themselves into our lives, and our loves. The sun signals hope and life while the waxing the waning of the moon shows us change, creation and also destruction.
Inspired by poetry from Shelley : ‘the sunlight clasps the earth … and the moonbeams kiss the sea’, the sculpture teases the bonds between heaven, earth & ourselves; coupling the perfection of the sphere with the abstraction of the figure.
‘Edge of Tomorrow’ sits at the tipping point as night forgets and day brings new hope.
About the Artist:
Jenny sees her sculptures as ‘drawings in space’ evoking mood and motion. Typically, her works are abstract, yet they’re often influenced by the figure. While the media she uses may be industrial, her sculptures are light and airy. Using lines, curves, shapes and colour she aims to capture a moment, a movement, a feeling.
