Amanda Harrison

Figurative sculpture is Amanda Harrison’s passion. She loves exploring ways to replicate this fabulous living sculpture, the human body. Joy and positivity in relationships, especially the parent and child bond, is a constant motif in her work. In her ceramic pieces, she express this through emotional gestures, using sweeping curves and surface texture to reflect strength and love. In my metal sculptures, I explore the motif through balance and movement. Amanda works mainly in clay and wax from my studio in Greenwich, Sydney, firing ceramic pieces in a solar-powered kiln and sending wax sculptures to the foundry to be cast into metal.
